Mother's - A Gift from GOD

Just about a week ago we celebrated Mother's Day, i believe that everyday should be dedicated to our mothers. It is sad to see some of the Mothers at the Ebenezer Hannah Home, not knowing what happened to their children, some are still searching and hoping that one day they would be reunited.

To all those whom still have mother's, appreciate and cherish her, we only have one mother and one life. We are living in a world of uncertainties where our children stand up to parents. Its time to take a stand, do not get lost by following the things of the world. And to all mother's show your children and husbands you are worth being called "mother".

To all Husbands, support your wifes in each and everyway, each and everyday, mothers are a gift from God, treat your wife so that your daughters will follow the footsteps of their mothers and that men would know how to value the worth of a women.

"A mother is the truest friend we have, when trials, heavy and sudden, fall upon us; when adversity takes the place of prosperity; when friends who rejoice with us in our sunshine, desert us when troubles thicken around us, still will she cling to us, and endeavor by her kind precepts and counsels to dissipate the clouds of darkness, and cause peace to return to our hearts."

Proverbs 31:10-12 and 25-31

A wife of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies.
Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value.
She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life.
She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.
She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.
Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her:
"Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all."
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
Give her the reward she has earned, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

To my mother, Lettie Biggs: I thank God for someone special like you , the one i call mother, you have been my true inspiration and a role model, i love you more than anything in this world, you raised us without any complaints, through the good and bad times, you were always there, putting our needs first, you are one in a million, no matter what you go through, i know your reward is greater in heaven. Even though we are miles apart you are always in my thoughts, prayers and in my heart. I love you always and forever and know that there is no other to replace you, my dear mother. =)

"Mother is adored in each part of the universe. Even the Lord give due respect to the mother. The great epic 'Bible' also throws light on the place of mother in the life of a human being" - Gen 3:20 Adam named his wife Eve, because she would become the mother of all the living.

SAVED BY THE GRACE OF GOD

Samkeilo & Samkelisiwe Keledi

The twins Samkeilo (boy) and Samkelisiwe (girl) was brought to the Ebenezer Care Centre by a socialworker on 17th January 2009 at the age of 5 months. Their biological mother is infected with HIV/AIDS and is not in a position to take care of the twins as she is not in good health. The twins are also infected with AIDS. Founders, Pastor Thomas and Sister Shirley Merime took the little ones in despite of their status.
They are currently in good care and gets all the love and attention they need.
They are currently on ARV’s and visits Barangwanath Hospital in Soweto for regular check up’s and tests. Thus far our little bundles of joy are growing stronger by the day and looking healthier than before.
Even though they are fighting a deadly disease, through those big dark eyes I see a brave baby boy and girl whom are saved by God’s grace. When they laugh and smile you can see the excitement of their infinitesimal bodies. Those tiny fingers just wanting to touch and feel you and know that they are loved.
They much too young to understand and know the reality of their situation. The hour and day unknown when those shiny eyes will be no more.
When night falls they are at peace, some days they experience pain, you can hear the agony in their cries and there is nothing we can do to ease the pain. Some days are better than others.
THE REALITY - AIDS IS REAL! Unfortunately the twins have to suffer and bear the consequences.
God is an awesome God and we believe that He is watching over Samkeilo and Samkelisiwe. “I pray that God would spare them for many years and give them new strength for each new day.

“Behold children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb is His reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth”

"Building Hope"

I'm just starting to blog now and everything is still a bit new to me. As my journey continues at the Ebenezer Hannah Home, i am faces with many challenges, and sometimes finds it difficult to go on, at the same time i know that giving up is not an option. The only thing that keeps me going is my faith in God and the beautiful children at the Home. To see them happy is an absolute joy.

Over the Easter Weekend we had people from all over the world at the Ebenzer Hannah Home to work on a Housing Project, together with Amor Ministries, Urban Saints, Radio Rainbow FC. The main focus was to build five houses in five days; at the same time give Hope to our people of having a house for the very first time in their lives.

Amor Ministries was found by Scott Congdon (who came on this year's project) in 1980, with the aim to show love in a practical and tangible way to the 40% of Mexicans who live below the poverty line. For the last 25 years, through the simple ministry of building homes for the underprivileged, Amor has engaged 7,000 churches and 270,000 volunteers in building 13,500 homes in Mexico. Through loving their neighbours in this down-to-earth way, Amor aims to bring the Gospel to where the people are at, rather than preaching at them from a pulpit.

In 2008, Scott got called to expand the ministry to South Africa , in partnership with Urban Saints which led to about 70 UK young people coming to South Africa to build houses. The project was originally planned to take place in Kimberley but the local authority pulled the plug. Bill Hebner (from Urban Saints) called Humphrey Birkenstock, CEO from Rainbow Radio 90.7 FM, who had accompanied him on a previous Amor housing project in Mexico. Humphrey began the relationship between Amor, Urban Saints and Ebenezer. The need that Pastor Tommy was in was for housing. Scott and Bill decided to bless the Care Centre through moving the housing project here.

We at the Hannah Home are grateful for these homes, and thank God for without Him in our lives this could not be possible. Not only will they have a house, but also a home!

“Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us,and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise:be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting;and his truth endureth to all generations.”— Psalms 100.1-5
